The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has opened an investigation into the suspected suicide of a 30-year-old man, identified as Ik Ojo, who was found dead in his home at Kagini, Dei-Dei, Abuja.
According to the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the incident occurred on August 5, 2025, after the command received a distress call. Officers from the Dei-Dei Division quickly responded and moved the victim to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor. His body has since been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Adeh further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death, assuring that updates will be provided as inquiries progress.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a letter to X Corp., demanding the removal of a tweet posted by activist Omoyele Sowore on August 25, 2025. The letter, signed by B. Bamigboye on behalf of the Director General of State Services, warned that failure to delete the tweet within 24 hours could result in legal action against the platform.
The DSS described Sowore’s post—which accused President Bola Tinubu of lying about corruption in his administration during a visit to Brazil—as misleading, inciting, and a threat to national security. The agency argued that the tweet violated provisions of the Criminal Code Act and the Cyber Crimes Act 2025, adding that it had the potential to incite unrest among the President’s supporters.
