Two days have passed since a panel of senior doctors and consultant personally selected by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, SAN concluded their medical examination of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Yet, no report has been issued.
In every high-profile medical case, preliminary reports are typically released within 24 hours. Why then this unusual silence? Why is there a blackout on information? Most importantly, why is Mazi Nnamdi Kanu himself being denied direct access to the findings of doctors imposed on him by the government?
This raises troubling questions:
- Is this another attempt to suppress or alter medical findings?
- Are the doctors being intimidated into drafting “government-friendly” reports that will deliberately downplay his deteriorating condition—just as we have seen in the past?
- Why is the Attorney-General silent, and why has the DSS refused to brief Nigerians?
The Nigerian government cannot continue to toy with human life under the cloak of secrecy. Transparency demands that this report be released immediately and in full. Anything short of that confirms a deliberate conspiracy against justice, medical ethics, and the truth.
The health of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not a bargaining chip for political games. Nigerians and the international community must insist: Let the report be made public NOW.
