Investigators in India have recovered the second black box from the Air India Boeing 787 that crashed in Ahmedabad last Thursday, resulting in the deaths of at least 279 people, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
The cockpit voice recorder (CVR), which records conversations and sounds from the flight deck, was recovered by search teams, according to PK Mishra, a senior aide to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The flight data recorder (FDR), containing detailed technical information about the aircraft’s performance, had been retrieved a day after the crash.
Authorities have confirmed the successful recovery and securement of both the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR).
