Ahmonique Miller, a 28-year-old woman from Las Vegas, tragically died just hours after undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure in Miami.
Miller had traveled from Las Vegas to Florida on March 5 with her sister, Kiera Barnes, intending to undergo cosmetic procedures at Avana Plastic Surgery. On March 7, she underwent a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and liposuction.
Later that day, Ahmonique Miller was taken to a surgical recovery facility known as Keyla’s Recovery House, where she stayed with her sister. It has since been revealed that the facility was operating without a license.
According to reports, Ahmonique Miller was allegedly administered medication that had not been prescribed following her BBL procedure.
She was put to bed between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., but concern mounted later that evening when she failed to regain consciousness. Around 9:30 p.m., staff at the recovery center checked on her and found her unresponsive. Emergency services were called, and she was pronounced dead by 10:26 p.m.
When police arrived, Miller was discovered lying face down, heavily bandaged, and already showing signs of rigor mortis.
An autopsy later determined that her cause of death was acute combined drug toxicity.
