Skit Maker Carter Efe Loses 1.8 Million Instagram Followers After Calling WizKid ‘Proud’

Popular Nigerian skit maker and content creator, Carter Efe, has reportedly lost access to his Instagram account, which had amassed over 1.8 million followers, following controversial remarks he made about Afrobeat superstar WizKid.

In a recent live video that quickly made the rounds online, Carter Efe referred to WizKid as an “idiot boy” and accused the singer of being arrogant. The comment didn’t sit well with many fans of the music icon popularly known as Wizkid FC who took to social media to condemn the skit maker’s statements.

Shortly after the backlash, Carter Efe’s Instagram account was taken down. Reacting to the development, he turned to his X (formerly Twitter) page to express frustration and disappointment, suggesting that WizKid’s fanbase had mass-reported his account, leading to its removal.

He wrote:
“FC una collect my Instagram account of 1.8 million followers”

Despite the incident, Carter Efe posted again, revealing his emotional conflict. While maintaining his admiration for WizKid, he lamented the actions of the singer’s fanbase:

“I love him with everything I have in my immune system But the fans are going wild for the first son
They betrayed me in the last minute.
Still love you, Dad”

The incident has sparked debate online, with some users criticizing the perceived cancel culture from fan bases, while others urged celebrities and influencers to be more cautious in their public statements.
