The Ijaw Protection Forum (IPF) has strongly condemned comedian Klintoncod for his recent comments and alleged defamatory remarks directed at renowned cleric, Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin.In a statement delivered by IPF President Alfred Ebiowei, the group warned that it would no longer tolerate what it described as repeated mockery and unfounded accusations aimed at their spiritual leader.Ebiowei expressed deep disappointment over Klintoncod’s recent actions on social media, accusing the comedian of making baseless claims and disrespectful comments against Prophet Fufeyin.
“Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin is more than a religious leader — he is a father figure and a revered spiritual guide to many,” Ebiowei stated. “It is disheartening to see Klintoncod take delight in mocking and insulting him with unfounded claims and offensive language.
”The group stressed that such behavior not only undermines individuals but also threatens the moral fabric and unity of the Ijaw community.“We will no longer sit back while public figures, especially those devoted to religious service, are subjected to ridicule and defamation,” Ebiowei added.
“We are closely monitoring Klintoncod’s online activities and will pursue every lawful measure to protect Prophet Fufeyin’s reputation.”
This is the final warning to Mr. Klintoncod and others involved in this disgraceful conduct,” the statement read. “We are not passive observers. Very soon, we will begin to respond through every legal avenue available to us.
These continued insults to our faith and heritage must come to an end.”The IPF also urged the public, media organizations, and digital platforms to act responsibly by discouraging and regulating the spread of unverified and defamatory content, particularly when directed at religious leaders.
Ebiowei went on to praise Prophet Fufeyin’s societal impact, describing him as a spiritual leader whose philanthropic efforts have touched countless lives within Nigeria and beyond.
He added, “Mr. Klintoncod should know that spiritual things are not for carnal minds, the deep things of the spirit are not for the physical eyes. He lacks understanding of the things of the Spirit.
”The IPF stressed its commitment to preserving the reputation of respected Ijaw figures, warning that any further attacks on Prophet Fufeyin would be met with swift legal action.
