Tinubu: We Are Transforming Infrastructure Development Across the Nation

President Bola Tinubu has stated that his administration is transforming Nigeria’s infrastructure landscape by delivering tangible projects across the country.

Reaffirming his commitment to national development, Tinubu emphasized his vision of a Nigeria where every community is connected, businesses flourish, and citizens enjoy dignity and opportunity.

He made this declaration on Wednesday during the inauguration of the dualised and upgraded Ushafa to War College/Army Checkpoint roads, along with other ancillary roads in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, highlighted the recent wave of infrastructure inaugurations under his administration, describing them as a clear demonstration of his government’s commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development.“We have transformed a path of frustration into a corridor of opportunity,” Tinubu stated.

“These dualised and upgraded roads will not only ease traffic congestion but also breathe new life into economic activities, enhance access to education and healthcare, and improve the overall quality of life for the people of Ushafa, Bwari, and surrounding communities.”

Highlighting the broader significance of the road projects, President Tinubu noted: “There is something even more remarkable to celebrate today: this entire project was awarded to an indigenous contractor. That decision was deliberate — rooted in our belief in the competence, resilience, and ingenuity of Nigerian professionals and businesses.”

He continued, “We are not just building roads. We are building capacity. We are creating jobs. We are fostering a sense of ownership and pride within our communities. And above all, we are demonstrating, unequivocally, that with the right support and an enabling environment, Nigerian contractors can deliver infrastructure that rivals the best in the world.”

Earlier, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, described the ongoing wave of project inaugurations in Abuja as unprecedented, calling it a clear demonstration of President Tinubu’s love and commitment to the residents of the nation’s capital.

Wike emphasized that the provision of road infrastructure, particularly in the FCT’s satellite towns, is crucial for unlocking economic potential and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents.

He also expressed satisfaction with the performance and professionalism of the indigenous contractor that executed the project, noting that its successful completion reflects a strong belief in local capacity and a commitment to supporting the growth and development of Nigerian contractors.

Delivering the vote of thanks, FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima for their visionary leadership, which she said has driven the transformation of FCT satellite towns into modern, infrastructure-equipped communities.
