A soldier, identified as Lance Corporal Ahmada A., has been accused of fatally assaulting phone technician Alkasum Ibrahim in Mayo‑Belwa, Adamawa State.
According to Sahara Reporters, a soldier identified as Lance Corporal Ahmada A. allegedly assaulted a phone technician, Alkasum Ibrahim, on Wednesday following a complaint from his girlfriend about a delayed phone repair.
Eyewitnesses reported that the woman had earlier submitted her phone for repairs at Alkasum’s shop, but the service was delayed for reasons that were not disclosed.
Frustrated by the delay, she reportedly contacted her boyfriend.Not long after, the soldier stormed the shop and violently attacked the young technician.Alkasum was rendered unconscious during the assault and later died from the injuries he sustained.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many Nigerians demanding justice and condemning the misuse of power and violence by military personnel against civilians.
