Why I’m Supporting ADC – Sule Lamido

Former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has explained his decision to back the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying it is a necessary step to protect and revive Nigeria’s democracy.

Speaking during an empowerment programme held at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters in Dutse, Lamido said his support for the opposition coalition under the ADC stems from a growing concern over the state of governance and democratic institutions under the current All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

“I’m supporting the ADC in a bold move to rescue Nigeria’s democracy from collapse,” Lamido declared.

He accused the APC-led government of abusing power, suppressing the opposition, and eroding key democratic values, warning that the country risks sliding into authoritarianism if urgent action is not taken.

Lamido’s alignment with the ADC marks a significant political shift and signals rising discontent among opposition figures as Nigeria approaches another election cycle.
