Real Madrid have firmly decided not to grant Vinicius Junior the same salary as teammate Kylian Mbappe.According to SER Deportivos, the Spanish giants have given the Brazilian forward one year to raise his performance level before revisiting salary negotiations. If no progress is made, the club may opt to sell him.
This decision follows a failed attempt earlier this month to reach a contract renewal, with both sides unable to agree on financial terms. While the talks came close, Vinicius’ demand for a €30 million salary package, including a renewal bonus, exceeded what Madrid was willing to offer.
Despite months of negotiation, the 25-year-old remains firm on his request, causing the discussions to stall.Vinicius, who joined Real Madrid from Flamengo in 2018, is under contract until June 2027.
Whether a new agreement will be reached in the near future remains uncertain.
