Geh Geh Explains Why Upcoming Artists Don’t Blow After Featuring Wizkid

Financial expert Geh Geh has shared his opinion on why many upcoming Nigerian artists fail to achieve mainstream fame even after featuring Wizkid, one of Africa’s biggest music stars and a Grammy award-winning singer.

According to him, Wizkid’s massive influence and global recognition overshadow any upcoming artist who collaborates with him. Rather than boosting their visibility, the collaboration often leaves the rising artist unnoticed because all the attention and glory end up going to Wizkid.

Geh Geh argued that this is not due to a lack of talent on Wizkid’s part, but rather because his fame is so overwhelming that it naturally eclipses the presence of any lesser-known collaborator.

In his words:

“How many upcoming artists wey don feature Wizkid wey blow? People dey talk say if them feature Wizkid for song, the song no dey blow or the artist no dey blow. No be because Wizkid no get talent but because Wizkid glory too get talent. Wizkid glory dey outshine the upcoming artists. If you feature Wizkid for song, nobody go even know say you dey the song. Na Wizkid go carry all the glory… if you feature Wizkid for song you no go fit blow. Upcoming artist no suppose dey feature Wizkid for song. Nobody go know you na Wizkid go carry all the glory.”

Key Point

Wizkid’s dominance in the music industry means collaborations with him often spotlight only him.

Upcoming artists seeking recognition may not benefit from featuring Wizkid, as their identity and effort are easily overshadowed.

Geh Geh suggests that emerging musicians should avoid relying on Wizkid features as a path to fame and instead build their own brand.
