Buhari’s Granddaughter, Halima Junaid, to Wed Walid Shehu Mauzu in Kaduna

Halima Amira Junaid, granddaughter of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, is set to tie the knot with Walid Shehu Mauzu in Kaduna State.

Halima is the daughter of Nana Hadiza Buhari, who a few years ago married former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami (SAN). Before her marriage to Malami, Hadiza was the wife of Captain Junaid Abdullahi, with whom she had six children, including Halima.

According to family sources, the wedding fatiha has been scheduled for August 30, 2025, and will be accompanied by a series of traditional and social pre-wedding events, including a bridal soiree, Kamu (traditional ceremony), and a grand dinner.

However, it was observed that several members of the former First Family were absent from some of the early celebrations leading up to the main event.

Halima’s marriage is expected to attract dignitaries, family friends, and political associates from across the country, given her family’s long-standing ties to Nigerian politics.
