Police Arrest Five Over Alleged Serial Defilement of Minor in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested five men accused of repeatedly defiling a young girl in Misau Local Government Area of the state.

Police spokesman, CSP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the suspects, all over 40 years old, allegedly lured the victim with money and assaulted her at different times and locations.

The incident was first reported to the Misau Divisional Police Headquarters on August 12, 2025, by Yusuf Muhammad and Danjuma Muhammad. The suspects were identified as Sulaiman Adamu (42), Umar Adamu (45), Musa Ibrahim (40), Shu’aibu Abubakar (47), and Mohammed Sanusi, all from Zadawa village in Misau LGA.

According to Wakil, detectives were immediately dispatched following the complaint. The victim was taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Misau, where medical examination confirmed penetration and the presence of seminal fluid.

He added that during interrogation, the suspects admitted to the crime. Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has ordered a full investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department, with a directive to charge the suspects to court.

The command assured that it would pursue the case to ensure justice for the victim.
