Pastor Jailed for Repeatedly Abusing Daughter in Ondo, Blames “Generational Curse”

Black Youth in Prison

A 42-year-old pastor, Samson Ajayi, has been ordered to remain in prison custody after confessing to sexually abusing his 17-year-old biological daughter for four years in Akure, Ondo State.

During the court hearing, Ajayi admitted to the crime and shockingly claimed he was influenced by a so-called “generational curse,” alleging that his own father had also abused his sister in the past.

According to the police prosecutor, Martins Olowofeso, the repeated abuse took place between March 2021 and August 2025 at the family’s home in Igoba, Akure. He noted that the offences violated the Ondo State Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Law, 2021.

The charge sheet stated:

“That you, Samson Ajayi ‘m’ sometime between July 2021 and August 2025, at Igoba, Akure, did unlawfully have carnal knowledge of your biological daughter (name withheld), aged 17 years.”

Ajayi’s lawyer, Kehinde Osadugba, requested an out-of-court settlement, arguing that the victim’s mother had forgiven him because of his role as the family’s main breadwinner.

However, Magistrate Taiwo Lebi rejected the plea, insisting that Ajayi’s confession was enough evidence to justify his remand. He ordered the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and forward it to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

The matter was adjourned to November 20, 2025, for further hearing.
