Governor Hope Uzodinma has been backed by a voice vote from the audience at the 7th annual Imo Stakeholders Meeting to run for reelection as governor of Imo State in 2023.
This was agreed upon at the 7th Stakeholders meeting, which took place at Ndubuisi Kanu Square in Owerri, Imo State, and was attended by politicians, academics, religious leaders, business executives, community elders, and market vendors.
Chief Henry Njoku of the Owerri zone proposed the adoption, citing the measurable progress made by Governor Uzodinma’s administration toward a more equitable distribution of the state’s wealth.
Afterwards, Hon. Barr Ifeanyi Agwu (a former lawmaker from Ehime Mbano) seconded the motion, which was approved by a voice vote.
In his speech, Senator Hope Uzodinma took Ndi Imo on a tour of how the Shared Prosperity administration has benefited the people of Ndi Imo over the past three years.
Responses from stakeholders were mostly positive, praising the governor for his efforts thus far.
One of the Stakeholders and a statesman in attendance, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, praised the governor and declared his admiration for the governor’s leadership ability.
Through his account of the Shared Prosperity administration’s accomplishments, plans, and proactive measures to preserve peace in Imo State, the governor has demonstrated strong leadership and responsibility, as he explained in his address, according to the speaker.
Chief Pascal Dozie CON, who presided over the 7th Imo State Stakeholders meeting, urged the residents of Imo State, regardless of their religious or political affiliations, to avoid politicising the state.
