Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal set a new individual record on Monday night despite his side’s 2-1 defeat to Girona in the Spanish top flight.
Data from OptaJose showed that the Spain international became the first player to complete 100 successful dribbles across Europe’s five major leagues this season, having attempted 199 so far.
Yamal’s milestone came even as Barcelona fell short against Girona, underlining the youngster’s growing influence and attacking threat for the Catalan side.
The teenage winger now leads the dribbling charts by a significant margin, highlighting his consistency and creativity in one-on-one situations.
According to the rankings, Yamal is 26 dribbles ahead of the second-placed player, Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig, who has completed 74 out of 138 dribbles this season.
The figures reinforce the Barcelona star’s emergence as one of the most exciting young attackers in European football.
Yamal has continued to impress since his promotion to Barcelona’s first team under former manager Xavi Hernandez, quickly establishing himself as a key attacking option.
His pace, confidence and technical ability have made him one of the standout performers for the club despite mixed team results.
The 18-year-old will now be hoping to inspire a positive response when Barcelona face Levante in their next LaLiga fixture this weekend under manager Hansi Flick.
With his form continuing to attract attention, Yamal remains a central figure in Barcelona’s push for consistency in the league.
