Popular Nollywood actor Zubby Michael has officially become a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking his entry into active political participation.
The actor completed his registration on Saturday in his hometown of Ozubulu, located in Anambra State. He later confirmed the development on his Instagram page, where he shared a video capturing the moment he signed up and received his party membership card.
Accompanying the post was a brief but bold message written in pidgin English: “I dey my village, enough of the talking online, I don involve,” signaling his decision to move beyond social media commentary into real-life political engagement.
His move has since generated widespread reactions across social media platforms. While many fans and supporters praised his decision, others linked his action to the growing influence of Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate widely associated with the ADC in recent political conversations.
Some users commended the actor for taking a stand and actively participating in the political process, describing his move as a step in the right direction. Others, however, used the opportunity to take subtle jabs at celebrities perceived to be aligned with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, sparking debate among fans.
One user, @don_isi, threw a jab at another celebrity, suggesting a contrast in political awareness, while @chidozie1994 praised the development, stating that actions speak louder than words and reaffirming support for Peter Obi. Another commenter, @bukas_tony, described Zubby Michael as someone who consistently stands with the people, applauding his credibility.
The development highlights the increasing involvement of entertainers in Nigeria’s political space, as public figures continue to leverage their influence to shape conversations and, in some cases, directly participate in governance and party politics.
