A social media commentator has criticised Dapo Abiodun over the condition of roads in his hometown, Iperu-Remo, questioning the level of infrastructure development in the area after nearly eight years of his administration.
The criticism emerged after videos surfaced online showing the governor arriving at a polling unit in Iperu-Remo during the All Progressives Congress Ogun East Senatorial Primary election.
In a viral post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, the commentator mocked the visibly dusty and untarred roads captured in the footage despite the governor’s political influence and popularity within the community.
“Lol, see the quality of road in your village after 8 years in power,” the user wrote while questioning the governor’s senatorial ambition alongside the apparent condition of infrastructure in his hometown.
The original video showed Governor Abiodun moving through the community surrounded by a large crowd of supporters waving posters and papers during the primary election exercise.
However, social media attention quickly shifted from the political event itself to the roads visible in the background, triggering widespread reactions online.
Several users echoed similar concerns, arguing that the condition of infrastructure in Iperu-Remo reflects broader developmental challenges facing parts of Ogun State.
Others questioned how a sitting governor seeking a Senate seat could still have roads in his hometown appearing underdeveloped after years in office.
The viral criticism has further intensified online conversations about governance, infrastructure delivery and political accountability ahead of the 2027 general elections.
