The sexual offence case involving Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, remains before a court in the United Kingdom, contrary to rumours suggesting that the matter had been resolved.
Gists9ja reports that the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed in an interview with Punch that the case is still active and that Odinaka is scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court, London, on September 15, 2026.
According to the CPS, the proceeding fixed for that date is a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing (PTPH).
A PTPH is a court hearing conducted before a trial to address issues relating to the defendant’s plea, case management and preparations for trial.
The clarification by UK prosecutors followed reports circulating on social media claiming that Poco Lee had been released from custody and that the complainant had withdrawn the case or reached an out-of-court settlement.
However, UK judicial authorities have not independently confirmed claims regarding the entertainer’s alleged release, bail status or any withdrawal of the complaint.
The CPS maintained that the matter remains before the court and that the September 15 hearing is still listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
Prosecutors also noted that a reporting restriction is in place to protect the identity of the complainant, in line with Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992 in the United Kingdom.
Odinaka is facing five sexual offence allegations in the UK.
The charges include attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.
The allegations arose following the entertainer’s visit to the United Kingdom in August for the Davido and Friends concert held at the Crystal Palace Bowl, London, on August 14.
As the matter remains before the court, the allegations have not been determined, and Odinaka is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless and until proven guilty by the court.
