I feel disappointed when men who are expected to be encouraging hard-working and devotion to duty turn themselves to vessels of absurdity.
Mrs Favour Ugwuanyi is a woman who has meritoriously served Enugu state as the Chairperson of post Primary school management board for about seven months in office now. She was elected to replace Hon. Barr. Nestor Ezeme when his tenure completed five years.
With the seven months which Mrs favour Ugwuanyi has been in office, she has made tremendous impact as the Chairperson of PPSMB, she has successfully achieved the following :
She has completed a massive multi purpose auditorium ,
She has established a computer hub with more than thirty computers and highly qualified IT instruments,
She established a well equipped staff clinic with hospital beds and medical equipments to enable the PPSMB staffs an access to a standard first Aid medical attention with always a medical doctor on calls, She has established a well equipped gymnasium with modern gym equipments for the staff to workout and keep themselves fit on weekends. In the area of education, Mrs Favour Ugwuanyi has impressively moved the standard of post Primary education to highly commendable level since her appointment.
How can a reasonable man after going through all these achievements of this noble woman within the space of months quickly dive into the conclusion that such a person behind those achievements be investigated? Does it mean that the government of H.E Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi forbids appointee from doing his or her duty the way it should or what?
As surprising as it may sound, in the recent past weeks, social media have been occupied with a very absurd head line of how an investigation panel committee was set up to probe PPSMB. Well, no one should in any way be a against setting up a panel of investigation committee which is meant to probe and possibly ensure transparency in the administration but the salient point to make is therefore that such probing and investigation Should first be carried out on the local government chairmen of Enugu state. Many Enugu state chairmen have been busy moving every allocation meant for their local government to unknown banks, establishing businesses here and there yet, the governor or the state house of assembly has never asked any question. Many local government chairmen have not achieved half of what Mrs favour Ugwuanyi has achieved in office with this few months she has stayed in office , yet they have not been probed.
There is no doubt now that the obnoxious decision by the Enugu state governor H.E Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and his boys in the state house of assembly is targeted at kicking out the Chairman of the board , chief Mrs Favour Ugwuanyi who was just appointed some few months ago out of office with no just reason except that H.E Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who was shamefully disgraced with votes by his clans from Nsukka now wants everyone in his administration to go with him which is not an ingredient of democracy.
It is is recorded that one of the members of the board, Hon. Ephraim Okenwa out of greed and envy accepted to extend the political cold war between Nkanu and Nsukka which emanated from the recent governorship squabble to the non Political education board of the government.
The envy and bitterness towards Mrs Ugwuanyi started when she embarked on the multi purpose state of the art auditorium project,a project which was commended by every serious minded Enugu state citizen. Staff clinic and a modern gym house, computer hub. Hon. Okenwa out of greed , corruption and selfishness felt he was not given the benefit of nominating a contractor who could have given him percentage, ran to the governor defaming and destroying the image of the indefatigable and workaholic Chairman of the board before the governor. It is also pertinent to note that chief Mrs Favour Ugwuanyi has confidently achieved in few months what her predecessors could not accomplish in five years and consequently, was accused of syphoning huge amount of money through the project.
Investigation also revealed that Mrs Favour Ugwuanyi worked with what she met on ground without any financial vote from the state government.
Hon. Okenwa has been flaunting his closeness to the governor and boasting that they have the backing of the governor to remove the innocent and performing PPSMB boss.
However, the attention of the appropriate authorities both within and outside Enugu state Should be drawn to this malicious attempt by the Enugu state governor and his state assembly members who have bent on sacking Mrs Favour Ugwuanyi through the purported investigation committee. The decision to be taken at the investigation has be concluded and that is, to sack her !
If the governor is to probe, let him begin with the local government chairmen who have emptied the purse of the local governments, Who have syphoned the monies meant for pensioners , instead of chasing a rat while her house is on fire.
We cannot keep our hands and watch injustice triumph over justice in Enugu state!
