Peter Gregory Obi, the presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party during an interview with Arise Television, narrated his experience after visiting flood-ravaged areas. Reacted to the claims that he is stingy and gifted the flood victims just a few loaves of bread to the flood victims, he disclosed that the photo of the foodstuffs donation that went viral wasn’t from him, but from people who felt the need to offer assistance.
He revealed that he had been offering assistance to people even before he ventured into politics. He went on to disclose that he only asked for the account numbers to which he would send money. He narrated how people were begging him for a hundred naira because they were hungry, and he advised those he sent money to, to assist the affected communities.
He believes that Nigeria hasn’t experienced a flood that has wreaked havoc like the current situation. He called on the Nigerian government to do the needful by dredging the rivers.
