The presidency, Bayo Onanuga, has said that a year after the election, the human rights activist Aisha Yesufu’s group remains bitter and toxic.
The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, made this statement on his official social media account on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024.
Bayo Onanuga reacted to Aisha’s post, where she said, ”Everyone knows Nigerian does not have a President. We can fool ourselves all we want. No Nigerian President that is President will be relegated to the second-row seat in an African context!”

Aisha had claimed that the elected South African President refused to accord President Tinubu his respect by placing him in a secondary role among African leaders.

Onanuga commented that Aisha and her group are bitter because their presidential candidate came third in the 2023 election.
He criticized Aisha and her supporters, calling them “uncouth horde of pessimists” who are always quick to judge any perceived negative action towards the leader of Africa’s biggest democracy.
He wrote, ”Aisha and her uncouth horde of pessimists are always quick to rush to judgment with any whiff of what appears to them to be negative to the leader of Africa’s biggest democracy.
More than a year after the 2023 election, in which their candidate came third, they remain incurably bitter and toxic, more than the supporters of the man who came second.”
