The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, and Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, have expressed their approval of the recent political move by former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim.
Anyim was officially welcomed into the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) along with other defectors from the Southeast region of the country on Saturday by the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje.
This ceremony occurred at the Abakaliki Stadium in Ebonyi State.
On Sunday, Uzodinma praised Anyim for becoming part of the progressive movement, highlighting his strong support network.
The South-East APC coordinator said: “Anyim’s involvement strengthens our collective efforts to build our region for the benefit of our people.”
Kalu, the representative of Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State in the House of Representatives, viewed Anyim’s choice as a positive move towards advancing the South-East region and the country as a whole.
“With your experience and leadership, I believe that this step will inspire other leaders to join hands in unity for the growth and development of our nation,” the deputy speaker said.
