The National Union of Imo State Student (NUISS) paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt, Dr. Emeka Mandela Ukaegbu yesterday, Thursday 18th July 2024 to congratulate and identify with him on his well deserved and meritorious appointment.
The group led by Comr. Ben. C. Anochie (President), stated that the visit was aimed at interacting with the Honourable Commissioner on a familiarization basis. He further eulogised the indefatigable Governor His Excellency Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodinma CON for appointing a young and utilitarian leader to champion the Youth Development Ministry’s affairs.
Addressing the Honourable Commissioner earlier, Comr. Anochie on behalf of the group, described their group as a dedicated members of the National Union Of Imo State Students (NUISS) that seeks all-round development and welfare of Imo State Students.
Responding, the strengthful Commissioner, Hon. Dr. Emeka Mandela Ukaegbu saluted their visit, impelled the group to unalloyedly support the existing ‘Prosperity Shared 3R Government’ of our lubish Leader, the Pan-Nigerian Youth Governor, His Excellency Dist Sen Hope Uzodinma CON, who has showcased his undying love for all Imo Students, other Imo Youth and beyond.
The young and down-to-earth Commissioner fervently emphasized on the need for a unified Student governance structure to represent Imo State Youth interests. Pointing out the earlier meeting he had with the NAISS Student Leadership where he encouraged for an integration action for NUISS to be fused back into NAISS as one united Imo student body.
The Honourable Commissioner, Dr. Mandela went on to charge all the Comrades present to focus on quality service regardless of where they find themselves. He stated that many Youth empowering programs are coming up and leadership qualities will be needed in Agriculture, IT, A1 and other sociological sectors.
The pioneer of Imo Youths Development Ministry, Dr. Mandela in the meeting, further declared that the Governor is fully loaded with Power Packed Packages for the Youth Development Ministry in order to batten and maintain the well-being of Ndi Imo, especially, the youth.
Still and all, the lively and stylish Commissioner, Hon. Dr. Mandela reaffirmed his advocacy for a robust integration of NUISS into NAISS(the oldest Imo student body) so as to form a single body for Imo students, stressing that the Ministry of Youth Development will not welcome two different umbrella bodies for Imo students, adding that such remarkable move will unquestionably restore peace, unity and sanity among the Imo State Students.
A vote of thanks was accorded to the Honourable Commissioner by Comr. Jamike Chinedu (Secretary General).
