‘Illiterate Government’ – Wike Mocks Fubara

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has mocked the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, describing his administration as an illiterate government.

The rift between Wike and Fubara has been intensely debated, sparking tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.

Speaking at a luncheon organised in honour of the 10th Legislative Assembly of Rivers State in Port Harcourt, Wike slammed Fubara over the spending in the state without a budget.

According to the former Governor, Fubara is taking a matter that should be filed at the federal high court to the state high court.

His statement reads in part: “The state assembly is challenging an illiterate government that you have no right to be spending money without a budget, and therefore, the Central Bank, Accountant General, cannot continue to release funds when it is not being budgeted.”
