The minors recently released by the Federal Government for their involvement in the protests against bad governance have arrived at the Presidential Villa, where they are set to have a brief meeting with government officials.
It’s important to note that the Federal Government has dropped the treason charges against them related to their participation in nationwide demonstrations.
A source from the presidency indicated that the governors of Kano and Kaduna States are present to welcome the minors and will subsequently return them to their families.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 2 PM in the Auditorium of the State House.
Following President Bola Tinubu’s directive on Monday, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, took over the case on Tuesday morning and informed the Federal High Court in Abuja of his decision to withdraw the charges against the protesters.
