Obaze Refutes Okupe’s Criticism of Peter Obi’s Economic Agenda, Cites Policy Foundations
Oseloka Obaze, the 2023 campaign manager for the Obi-Datti Organisation, has strongly responded to recent remarks by Doyin Okupe dismissing Peter Obi’s “consumption to production” mantra as lacking a solid policy basis.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Obaze described Okupe’s comments as “balderdash” and countered them with evidence supporting Obi’s economic vision. He expressed disappointment in Okupe, who had served as the Director-General of Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign.
Obaze reminded Okupe of his active involvement in drafting and finalizing the detailed policy document that outlined Obi’s plans to transform Nigeria’s economy. The document emphasized a shift from a consumption-driven system to one focused on domestic production and industrialization.
“Perhaps, he [Okupe] has a touch of amnesia. Well, he should know. He is the Medical Doctor!” Obaze quipped, adding a sarcastic jab while reiterating Okupe’s integral role in crafting the campaign’s economic framework.
