Paul Ibe, the media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has launched a harsh criticism of Daniel Bwala, the newly appointed spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu. Ibe accused Bwala of sacrificing his integrity for personal gain, calling him out for his perceived hypocrisy and lack of moral principles.
In a statement released on Sunday, Ibe did not hold back, labeling Bwala as a man “devoid of any sense of shame” and alleging that he had turned against his own values and dignity to serve his selfish interests. Ibe’s comments came in response to a video compilation that had been circulated, which highlighted Bwala’s earlier public criticism of Tinubu during his time as a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Before his recent political shift, Bwala had been a vocal ally of Atiku Abubakar, who was the PDP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections. His sudden alignment with President Tinubu has sparked a wave of disappointment and backlash from his former colleagues in the PDP, who view his political shift as a betrayal.
Ibe took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his disapproval, writing, “Shut up, Daniel Bwala! If you had any semblance of shame, you wouldn’t be eating your own words. Or is this a case of Daniel’s hand and Bwala’s voice?”
He continued, sharply accusing Bwala of being the “master of conspiracy,” suggesting that the new spokesperson had abandoned his own principles for the sake of personal advantage. “For the sake of your stomach, you have conspired against your own integrity and honor,” Ibe wrote.
Ibe’s post also referenced his belief in divine justice, stating, “You are indeed right about God revealing the true nature of people over time. And in your case, God has already exposed you as a deceitful, two-faced traitor—a schemer who has no regard for loyalty or truth.”
This public clash between Ibe and Bwala highlights the growing tension within Nigerian politics, particularly among figures who have switched allegiances for what appear to be personal or political gain. The heated exchange between the two political figures reflects deeper concerns about integrity, loyalty, and the motivations driving political decisions in Nigeria today.
