
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Jami’u Abiola as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Linguistics and Foreign Matters.
The announcement was made on Wednesday in a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
According to the statement, the appointment took effect from November 14, 2024. It further noted that the position aligns with the provisions of the Certain Political and Judicial Office Holders (Salaries and Allowances, etc.) Act 2008, as amended.
Background and Expectations
Before this new role, Jami’u Abiola served as the Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties in the Office of the Vice President. His promotion reflects President Tinubu’s trust in his capabilities and experience.
In his new position, Jami’u has been tasked with collaborating closely with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. President Tinubu emphasized the importance of leveraging Jami’u’s expertise to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic engagements and address foreign matters effectively.
