President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after completing official visits to France and South Africa, where he participated in high-level discussions to strengthen bilateral ties.
His aircraft touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at around 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday.
The president’s trip began last Wednesday with a state visit to France at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron. This visit focused on fostering partnerships in critical sectors, including agriculture, security, education, health, youth development, employment, innovation, and energy transition.
Following three days in France, Tinubu proceeded to South Africa on Monday to co-chair the 11th Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission alongside South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. The Commission served as a platform to discuss enhanced cooperation between the two nations.
During the session in Cape Town, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of deeper collaboration in trade and investment. He acknowledged the contributions of South African companies such as MTN and MultiChoice to Nigeria’s economy and celebrated the success of Nigerian businesses like the Dangote Group and Access Bank operating in South Africa.
These engagements underline Tinubu’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial partnerships with international allies while prioritizing economic growth and development across key sectors. His visits are expected to yield tangible benefits that will strengthen Nigeria’s relationships on the global stage.
