
Rabiu Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and Donald Duke, the former governor of Cross River State, recently held a meeting with ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The meeting took place over the weekend at Obasanjo’s residence, the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), located in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Kwankwaso shared details of the encounter on his official social media platform, X, along with photographs from the visit.
In his post, Kwankwaso explained that the primary focus of the meeting was on vital national issues, particularly concerning the future of politics and governance in Nigeria. He described the discussion as constructive and meaningful.
Kwankwaso’s statement read: “I was pleased to be in the company of my friend, His Excellency Donald Duke, and other associates to pay a courtesy visit to President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta. The conversation centered on important national issues, with a special emphasis on the future of politics and governance in Nigeria.”
He further expressed gratitude towards Obasanjo for his warm reception, stating, “We are grateful to Baba for his warm support and hospitality. – RMK.”
