Former Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, has officially launched his presence on TikTok, further expanding his digital engagement with Nigerians.
Obi made the announcement on Tuesday via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, where he shared the news with his supporters and encouraged them to connect with him on the popular social media platform.
In his first TikTok post, the former Anambra State governor uploaded a video urging Nigerians to follow his account as part of a collective effort to reshape the country’s future. He reaffirmed his commitment to a “New Nigeria” and invited citizens to join him on the journey toward national transformation.
“This is my official and only TikTok page. Kindly join me towards building a new Nigeria that is possible,” Obi stated in the video.
Obi’s move to TikTok highlights the growing importance of social media in political engagement, particularly in reaching younger demographics. With TikTok’s vast user base, the former governor aims to strengthen his direct interaction with Nigerians, especially the youth, who played a significant role in his 2023 presidential campaign.
His presence on the platform is expected to feature more interactive content, updates on national issues, and discussions about his vision for Nigeria’s progress.
