Liverpool Football Club has officially confirmed that former manager Jürgen Klopp will return to the club for the first time since his departure, as he takes part in the LFC Foundation’s Annual Gala on May 23.
The much-anticipated event will mark Klopp’s first public appearance in his new role as honorary ambassador of the club, and comes just two days before Liverpool’s final Premier League match of the season against Crystal Palace at Anfield — a game he may also attend.
Now serving as Red Bull’s global head of soccer, the German tactician is expected to take on the role of guest speaker at the gala, which will raise funds in support of the club’s charitable arm.
“Everyone knows how much I love the work of the LFC Foundation,” Klopp said. “I can’t wait to join them to celebrate that work and help raise important funds so they can continue the incredible things they are doing.”
Tickets for the gala are already on sale, and fans are looking forward to the emotional reunion between Klopp and the club where he spent nearly a decade, earning legendary status for his leadership on and off the pitch.
Matt Parish, chief executive of the LFC Foundation, expressed gratitude for Klopp’s continued involvement: “Jurgen was a fantastic advocate for our work during his time at the club.
