A young man identified as Aliyu Ahmad has suffered a devastating workplace accident that led to the amputation of both arms just five days after securing employment at a recycling facility in Katsina State.
The heartbreaking story was brought to public attention by a Nigerian pharmacist, Musa Bello, who shared details and photos of the incident via his Facebook page.
According to Bello, Aliyu had recently been employed by JINYUAN Recycling Resources Company Limited, a recycling firm located in Kano. The tragic accident reportedly occurred while he was operating machinery at the facility, resulting in severe injuries that required both arms to be amputated.
In his emotional post, Bello wrote:
“Life is full of trials and tests. This is Aliyu Ahmad, a vibrant and promising young man from Shagari Lowcost in Katsina. He encountered a life-altering tragedy just five days into his new job. Due to a mechanical accident at JINYUAN Recycling Resources Company Limited, he lost both of his arms.
“Please keep him in your prayers. May Allah grant him strength, healing, and the courage to overcome this immense hardship. He is known to be a respectful and upright individual. May we never face trials that exceed our limits.”
Aliyu’s story has since sparked an outpouring of sympathy and calls for support from concerned Nigerians online. Many have expressed concern over the safety measures at the company and are calling for accountability.
As Aliyu begins the long road to recovery, supporters are rallying around him, hoping to raise awareness and possibly funds to assist in his rehabilitation and adaptation to life after the accident.
