Aman has been killed in Kogi for allegedly attempting to snatch a ballot box and disrupt the voting process in the Anyigba local government area of the state.
The Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) revealed this on its X account on Saturday morning, sharing the video of a man clad in black lying in a pool of blood.
“An alleged leading political party thug was gunned down in Anyigba LGA, Kogi State in an attempt to disrupt the election by snatching the ballot box,” TMG wrote.
The identity and the political party the man was working for could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
It is also uncertain if he was killed by security operatives or hoodlums.
There have been a series of controversial incidents in the ongoing governorship election in the state.
For instance, pre-recorded election result sheets declaring the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Near Ogogo Compound polling unit in Okehi local government area of the state, were found hours before the commencement of the voting process on Saturday morning.
The result sheet shows that APC scored 532, AA and SDP had 1 valid vote each while other political parties were not allotted any score.
It was gathered that those behind the pre-recorded results were offering other parties’ agents bribes to sign the document.
