Bandits have hijacked a pickup truck and stolen a significant quantity of foodstuffs, drinks, and bottled water in Akoti village, located within the Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The robbery took place just two days after a separate incident in which another group of bandits seized food supplies and beverages from a man riding a motorcycle.
A local source confirmed the details of the latest attack, explaining that the pickup truck, which was carrying bags of rice, a jerrycan of vegetable oil, energy drinks, and bottled water, was en route from Jere to Akoti village. According to the source, the bandits emerged unexpectedly from the surrounding forest, armed with AK-47 rifles. They flagged down the vehicle, deflated its tires, and then diverted it into the forest.
After seizing the food items, the bandits reportedly released the driver and his assistant, allowing them to leave unharmed.
As of the time of this report, ASP Hassan Mansur, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, had not yet confirmed the incident.
