Local Hunters Rescue Wedding Guests Abducted by Kidnappers

Local hunters and vigilantes have successfully rescued five wedding guests who were abducted while traveling from Kogi State to Odo-Owa community in Kwara State.

The victims were kidnapped on Saturday afternoon at Obbo-Ayegunle, located in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, by gunmen. They were freed on Tuesday, following an operation by the hunters and vigilantes.

The abducted individuals, all from the same family in Odo-Owa, had been held for ransom, with the kidnappers demanding N100 million for their release. Reports from Wednesday indicate that the Chairman of Oke-Ero Local Government Area visited the victims in the hospital, where they are currently receiving medical care.

In addition to the five victims, unconfirmed reports suggest that eight other individuals were also rescued by the local hunters and vigilantes during the operation.

Attempts to contact the spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, for a statement on the matter were unsuccessful on Wednesday.
