APC Tackles Kwankwaso, Labels Him a 'Political Wanderer'

APC Slams Kwankwaso Over Political Threats, Labels Him a “Political Refugee”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded fiercely to recent remarks made by Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), after he claimed he would render the APC irrelevant in Kano State during the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso had boasted that his influence would reduce the APC’s votes in Kano to less than 15,000 in the next election cycle. However, APC’s Kano State Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, dismissed the statement as delusional, urging Kwankwaso to focus on reclaiming his membership in the NNPP rather than making empty threats.

APC’s Response

In a statement released on Thursday, Abbas described Kwankwaso as a “political refugee” who lacks relevance and has become a “wanderer” in the Nigerian political landscape.

“Kwankwaso’s statement is laughable, coming from someone who has lost his political foothold after reportedly being sacked by his own party, the NNPP,” Abbas remarked.

The APC chieftain accused Kwankwaso of attempting to manipulate public perception and warned that the APC would not tolerate any form of electoral malpractice in the future.

“We will not allow a repeat of the vote manipulation and allocation that gave the false impression of NNPP’s strength in Kano during the 2023 general elections,” he said.

Kwankwaso’s Alleged Decline

Abbas further criticized Kwankwaso for allegedly clinging to Governor Abba Yusuf like a “leech” in a desperate attempt to remain politically relevant. He accused Kwankwaso of being self-centered and having a “bloated ego,” which he claimed has alienated him from several political parties, including the APC and PDP.

“Kwankwaso ran away from the APC because he couldn’t align with our progressive ideals. His domineering attitude forced him out of the PDP, and now he’s a political refugee, rejected even by the NNPP,” Abbas stated.

APC’s Plans for 2027

Abbas reassured APC supporters in Kano that the party is strategizing to reclaim the state in the next elections. He accused Kwankwaso of using undue influence to manipulate the political climate in Kano and vowed to put an end to it.

“The APC is prepared to rescue Kano State from Kwankwaso’s undue influence and restore proper governance. Our teeming supporters have no cause for concern about someone who has been discarded by his own party,” he said.

Abbas concluded by calling on Kwankwaso to reflect on his dwindling political fortunes rather than making baseless threats.

“Kwankwaso needs to stop daydreaming and channel his energy into rebuilding his reputation, as he has become a wanderer in the political terrain,” the APC chairman added.
