Nollywood actor Frederick Leonard has strongly addressed recent rumors about his marriage to actress Peggy Ovire, clarifying that there are no issues or cracks in their relationship, as suggested by some bloggers and social media followers.
The speculation began when Peggy posted Christmas-themed photos that did not include her husband, which led to online gossip. An Instagram blog further fueled the rumors, claiming that their marriage was facing a crisis due to Frederick’s alleged infidelities and disrespect toward his wife on movie sets.
In a detailed Instagram post on Thursday, Frederick expressed his frustration with the invasion of privacy, stating that what happens in their marriage is no one’s business. He made it clear that critics should stay out of their personal affairs. He also asserted that his wife has every right to make her own choices, including posting photos without him or taking a break from wearing her wedding ring, and he would continue to perform his professional duties without changing for social media.
Frederick emphasized that marriage is not about control or submission. He pointed out that he does not expect to stop kissing other actresses in films just because of his marriage, noting that professional actors around the world do not compromise their work for personal reasons.
He also addressed the attacks on actresses who work with him, defending them as professionals who are simply doing their jobs and putting food on the table. In response to those who criticize him based on the roles he plays in films, he noted that such judgments were ignorant and not his responsibility to correct.
