The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has addressed the circulation of an AI-generated image portraying him as an alhaji, which went viral in December 2024.
The image, shared by an X user identified as @Sarkideyforyou, showed Pastor Adeboye dressed in Islamic attire, standing in front of the Kaabah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia—a significant religious site for Muslims. The post, captioned “Pastor Adeboye, may Allah guide you to the right path,” sparked widespread reactions, amassing over 3.8 million views, 1,500 reposts, 1,800 comments, and 4,000 likes by December 22, 2024.
During the first Holy Ghost Night of 2025, held on January 4, Pastor Adeboye addressed the image, saying, “I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an alhaji.” He did not condemn the post but used the opportunity to shift attention to global concerns, urging Christians to pray for peace amid ongoing international conflicts to avert another world war.
Pastor Adeboye also touched on the rise of mockery against men of God, warning that many of these mockers might not live through the year. However, he reminded his congregation that God does not wish for the death of sinners but desires their repentance.
In a prophetic moment, Adeboye predicted that 2025 would witness a massive earthquake of unprecedented proportions, emphasizing the importance of seeking God’s protection and guidance.
The RCCG leader’s message, titled “The Glory Ahead,” encouraged believers to remain hopeful, assuring them that God’s purpose for humanity remains steadfast. “God isn’t in a hurry to take people to heaven because He needs them to fulfil His divine mission on earth,” he explained.
As the message concluded, Adeboye urged his congregation to remain steadfast in faith, emphasizing that despite challenges, brighter days lie ahead for those who trust in God.
