Suspended Catholic priest’s Wife Gives Testimony, Shares Their Love Story and How They Met

Dora Chichah, wife of Reverend Father Daniel Okonatotor Oghenerukevwe, a suspended Catholic priest from the Diocese of Warri, has shared her inspiring testimony about their union.

She disclosed the journey during a live session at Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International Church in Dallas, USA.

Dora, a single mother of three, revealed how persistent prayers and unwavering faith led to what she described as her “miraculous marital settlement” after years of waiting.

A Testimony of Faith and Patience

In a video reposted by Nigerian priest Reverend Father Kelvin Ugwu on Facebook, Dora expressed profound gratitude for what she called divine intervention. She recounted her nine-year wait for a life partner and how her prayers at the church altar were finally answered.

“What God cannot do does not exist. My name is Dora, and I’m giving my testimony from Streams of Joy, Dallas. Since 2020, I have been on this altar, believing God for a life partner. I’m a single mother of three and have been trusting God for over nine years for divine settlement. I kept praying, saying, ‘God, settle me.’”

How She Reconnected with Reverend Father Daniel

Dora explained that Pastor Jerry Eze had led prayers specifically for women in their 30s and 40s seeking life partners. Following divine inspiration in 2024, she decided to relocate, which led her to reconnect with Daniel, a childhood acquaintance. Their reconnection quickly blossomed, and they tied the knot on July 29, 2024, in the USA.

Controversy Surrounding Their Union

While Dora celebrated her answered prayers, she avoided mentioning Daniel’s role as a Catholic priest during her testimony. However, photos of their wedding soon surfaced online, drawing attention to Daniel’s suspension from priestly duties for violating Catholic celibacy vows.

The Diocese of Warri, which announced Daniel’s suspension, has yet to release further statements. The incident has sparked widespread online discussions about the challenges of priestly celibacy, personal choices, and faith.

A Debate on Faith and Choices

The story has divided opinions. Some view the union as a testament to God’s providence, while others see it as a breach of Catholic vows. Regardless, Dora’s testimony underscores the complexities of faith, relationships, and personal decisions.

The couple’s journey continues to inspire conversations about the intersection of religious obligations and human desires, as well as the power of prayer in shaping destinies.
