43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Olakulehin, Laid to Rest

The 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, has been laid to rest at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Aremo, Ibadan—his family’s church.

A burial service was held in his honour before the interment on Friday, attended by Governor Seyi Makinde, Deputy Governor Barrister Bayo Lawal, Major General O. G. Onubogu (GOC 2 Division, Nigerian Army), PDP National Deputy Chairman (South) Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, and members of the royal family, including Prince Sumbo Owolabi Olakulehin.

Following the service, the monarch’s remains were committed to the grave within the church premises.

Oba Olakulehin was crowned on July 12, 2024, and passed away on July 7, 2025.
