
Parts of the Nigerian Air Force aircraft that crashed near Igbokoda in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State are being evacuated from the crash site as recovery operations continue.
The debris recovered from the crash site was taken to the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base in Igbokoda on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, visited the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base to inspect the recovered debris as military authorities intensified efforts to recover the remaining wreckage.
The governor’s visit came as recovery teams continued operations at the crash site and worked towards concluding the exercise.
The aircraft crash claimed the lives of all 25 people on board, comprising five crew members and 20 passengers, according to the Nigerian Air Force.
The military authorities are expected to continue examining the recovered wreckage as part of efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The recovery operation is ongoing, with authorities working to secure and evacuate parts of the aircraft from the crash location.
