BREAKING: Herdsmen Attack Taraba Community, Kill Seven Including Police Officers

A deadly attack has rocked a community in Taraba State after gunmen suspected to be herdsmen invaded Tor-Damisa in Donga Local Government Area, leaving multiple casualties in their wake.

According to reports, the assailants stormed the community on Wednesday evening, opening fire indiscriminately and causing widespread panic among residents. Security operatives from the Taraba State Police Command quickly responded to the distress call, engaging the attackers in a fierce gun battle.

Sources familiar with the incident disclosed that the confrontation resulted in the deaths of at least seven people. Among the victims were three police officers and four civilians, highlighting the severity of the clash.

The violence has forced many residents to flee their homes in fear, seeking refuge in nearby communities as tensions continue to rise in the area.

As of the time of filing this report, efforts to get an official response from the Police Public Relations Officer, Lasheh James, were unsuccessful. Calls and messages sent to him had not been returned.

The latest attack adds to growing security concerns in parts of the state, with residents calling for increased protection and swift action to prevent further loss of lives.
