NDC Members Repel Alleged Thugs Attack During Obi-Kwankwaso March In Warri

An ongoing one-million-man march in support of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso in Warri, Delta State, was reportedly disrupted by suspected political thugs.

The incident occurred as supporters of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), popularly known as Obidients and Kwankwasiyyas, participated in the solidarity march across the city.

According to reports from the organisers, the procession came under attack by suspected political thugs who allegedly attempted to disrupt the gathering.

The supporters, however, reportedly resisted the attack and succeeded in pushing back the alleged attackers, allowing the march to continue.

Videos and reports from the event showed supporters gathered in large numbers as they moved through parts of Warri while displaying campaign materials and chanting in support of Obi and Kwankwaso.

The alleged incident has generated reactions among supporters, with calls for political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections to be conducted peacefully and without intimidation or violence.

The identities and affiliations of those allegedly involved in the attack had not been independently established at the time of publication.

The organisers also called on security agencies to ensure adequate protection for participants at political gatherings and marches across the state.
