Nollywood actor Laide Olabanji has continued to publicly express his support for former Anambra State Governor and 2027 presidential hopeful Peter Obi.
In a statement shared on social media, the actor drew a comparison with Nigeria’s military era, arguing that a leader who is committed to improving the country can make significant changes within a relatively short period.
Olabanji said:
“If someone can destroy a country in three years, another good man can do it better for just one year. Gowon ruled for nine years, Gen. Murtala Muhammed repaired it in just six months.
“So if your tribe person can’t give you a better life, allow Peter Obi to give you a better country. The future of your children is very important.”
The actor’s comments have generated reactions online as he continues to use his platform to voice his support for Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Olabanji’s latest statement also touched on the role of ethnic considerations in Nigerian politics, urging citizens to prioritise what they believe would improve the country and the future prospects of their children.
