Jerome Boateng Lands New Coaching Job At Trabzonspor

Former Manchester City and Bayern Munich defender, Jerome Boateng, has secured a new coaching role following his retirement from professional football.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Boateng has agreed to join Turkish club Trabzonspor as an assistant coach.

The appointment comes shortly after the former Germany international announced his retirement from professional football on September 19, 2025, at the age of 37.

Boateng enjoyed the most successful period of his playing career at Bayern Munich, where he established himself as one of the club’s key defenders and won numerous major honours.

During his time with the German giants, Boateng won nine Bundesliga titles, two UEFA Champions League trophies and five DFB-Pokal titles, among other honours.

He was also part of the Germany squad that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Before and after his spell at Bayern Munich, Boateng represented several clubs, including Hertha BSC, Hamburger SV, Manchester City, Olympique Lyon, US Salernitana and LASK.

The former defender now begins a new chapter in football management as he takes up a coaching role with Trabzonspor.
