A Nigerian man identified as Obinna Collins Onuoha has taken to social media to mourn the tragic death of his brother, simply identified as OC, who was reportedly shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Monday, September 7, 2026.
According to the bereaved man, his brother was killed while he was taking his children back to the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
Collins disclosed that the shocking incident occurred in the presence of OC’s sons, who reportedly witnessed their father being gunned down.
The incident has left the family devastated, with Collins expressing disbelief over the circumstances surrounding his brother’s death and questioning the identity and motive of the attackers.
Taking to social media to pay tribute to his late brother, Collins described OC as his only biological brother and lamented that he was killed in front of his own children.
He also called for justice, praying that those responsible for the killing would be identified and brought to justice.
In an emotional post, he wrote:
“My only blood brother is gone!!! Shot and killed while taking his children back to FUTO.
Who did this to us??? Killed before his sons!! Chai, what a wicked world. Your killers will never go free.
Rest in peace, my blood.”
The circumstances surrounding the killing, including the identity and motive of the assailants, remain unclear as of the time of filing this report.
The tragic incident has also raised concerns about the safety of residents and students travelling around the area, particularly amid persistent reports of violent attacks and insecurity in parts of Imo State.
The family is now left to grapple with the loss of a father who was reportedly on his way to ensure that his children returned safely to their university when his life was abruptly cut short.
Further details about the incident, including whether security agencies have commenced an investigation or made any arrests, were not immediately available.
