Head coach of the Portugal national football team, Roberto Martínez, has unveiled his squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Portuguese national team will begin preparations for the tournament with a series of friendly matches, including a high-profile clash against the Nigeria national football team on June 10 at the Dr Magalhães Pessoa Stadium in Portugal.
Veteran forward Cristiano Ronaldo, who remains Portugal’s captain and all-time leading scorer, headlines the squad which features a blend of experienced stars and emerging young talents from Europe’s top clubs.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s head coach Eric Chelle has already confirmed plans to field a strong squad for the international friendly as the Super Eagles continue preparations for upcoming competitions.
