
Seven people have been reportedly injured following an explosion that heavily damaged a church in upstate New York.
The New York State Police confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, noting that a firefighter was inside the church when the explosion occurred on Tuesday.
According to the statement, gas odour was reported at the Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Boonville, Oneida County.
The police stated that while the firefighter and a civilian were critically injured, five other injured people have been taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police, however, said there are no signs of criminal activity in the explosion.
